The Philippine Coalition Against Tuberculosis (PhilCAT) has successfully held its 17th Annual Convention at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila, Ortigas Center, Quezon City on August 19-20, 2010.
In cooperation with the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. (PTSI), the convention dubbed, “PhilCAT 2010: Partnership Towards Strategic Interventions in TB” has enriched thousands of TB advocates on how they can elevate their efforts into fighting tuberculosis, a curable disease that continues to affect thousands of Filipinos.
Some of the lectures for audiences’ delight included: A Century of Fighting TB; WHO Regional Strategy to Stop TB: Intensified Case Finding; TB and HIV, TB in Children, TB and Media; Managing MDR-TB, TB Infection Control; Local Policy Directions in TB; among others.
No less than the Secretary of Health, Dr. Enrique T. Ona graced the event.
